Starting from Lexington
Woodford's page says its listed Lexington-area hotels are roughly 15 to 25 minutes away. For a group based there, Woodford can be the first stop of a short day, followed by Castle & Key or Wild Turkey, with everyone back at the hotel by late afternoon. Private flyers landing at Signature Aviation at Blue Grass Airport are about 30 minutes from the distillery.
A bourbon-and-horses day
Because Woodford lists horse attractions on its own page, some guests want to combine a distillery tour with Keeneland or a farm visit. That works, as long as you reserve each stop yourself and send us the times. We handle the driving between them; we do not arrange farm access.
Getting there from Louisville
From downtown Louisville, the drive is about 75 minutes, roughly 61 miles. From SDF, allow about 85 minutes. From downtown Jeffersonville, about 80 minutes. We pick up at Louisville hotels and homes, Southern Indiana addresses, and SDF with flight tracking.
Food and planning
Woodford's plan-a-visit page lists area restaurants, including Ricardo's Grill & Pub in Versailles, which is an easy lunch before or after the tour. The same page says outside food isn't allowed inside, and it notes picnic tables on the grounds. There is a gift shop and a cocktail bar on site.

For a group staying in Lexington, Woodford can anchor a short, relaxed day. Leave the hotel in the late morning and reach the distillery for a tour, eat at a restaurant from Woodford's own area list, then ride about 25 minutes to Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg for an afternoon tour, and about 30 minutes back. Total driving is under an hour and a half.
From Louisville, the math changes: Woodford is about 75 minutes each way, so it usually closes a day that started at Buffalo Trace or Castle & Key, or opens the Lawrenceburg variant of our loop. A Louisville day that runs Woodford, then Wild Turkey, then Four Roses comes to about three hours and ten minutes of driving.
Horse-country roads are part of the appeal. The McCracken Pike leg between Woodford and Castle & Key is short and scenic, and it is narrow, so tell us your group size and vehicle when you reserve and we will plan the route.
