A family car for the day
Most families ask for one vehicle for the immediate family. The family car or limousine picks everyone up at the home or the funeral home, then carries them to the visitation, the service, the cemetery, and the gathering afterward. Nobody has to drive, park, or find the others between stops.
Your chauffeur arrives early, in a suit, and waits at the address you name. Between stops the cabin is quiet. If the family needs a few more minutes at the funeral home or the graveside, the car waits. The time belongs to the family.
The procession and the cemetery
The funeral home arranges the procession. We coordinate the family car with the funeral director ahead of the day, and we do not provide police or escort services.
When the committal is finished, we take the family wherever the day goes next, whether that is a church hall, a family home, or a restaurant, and then home at the end of the day.
Relatives traveling in for the service
Relatives often arrive on different flights over a day or two. Send us their names, phone numbers, and flight details, and we will track each arrival at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) or another nearby airport. A delay simply moves the pickup.
From the airport we can bring relatives to their hotel, the visitation, or the service, and we take them back for their flights when they are ready to go home.
For funeral directors and funeral home staff
Funeral homes can call us directly. You have one point of contact for the family cars, we arrive ahead of the scheduled time, and we take our direction from you on arrival times and where the family car waits.
Our chauffeurs pass criminal background checks, driving-record reviews, and drug testing, and they work under a nondisclosure agreement. When a large family needs more than one vehicle, we can add a second limousine or SUV. Veteran and military funerals
Veteran Executive Transportation is veteran-owned, and we understand what a veteran’s funeral means to a family. We do not provide military honors. The honor guard, the flag folding, and Taps are arranged through the funeral home with the military or veterans organization providing them. Our part is the transportation. We coordinate our timing with the funeral home and with whoever is providing the honors, so the family arrives when and where they should. Veterans cemeteries in the region have their own procession and access procedures, and the funeral director confirms them ahead of the day.
Choosing vehicles
For funerals we provide black limousines and SUVs only. Many families choose a stretch limousine for the immediate family and an SUV for grandparents or relatives arriving from the airport, and a larger family can add a second vehicle. We do not provide a hearse; the funeral home arranges it. Vehicle sizes are listed on our fleet page, and we are glad to help you decide what the day needs.
