The farm-to-bottle stop for mixed groups
Jeptha Creed Distillery is a family farm distillery at 500 Gordon Lane in Shelbyville. The Kentucky Bourbon Trail directory says it opened in 2016, uses heirloom Bloody Butcher corn, and lists it as family friendly, with food options, a cocktail bar, a farm, and live music. That combination suits groups where not everyone is tasting, or where the point of the day is a relaxed lunch in the country. It is also the first stop on our Southern Indiana pickup day.
A good fit when not everyone is tasting
Some bourbon days include a designated non-drinker, a parent visiting from out of town, or friends who came for the company. The Trail's listing for Jeptha Creed points to a setting that works for them: a farm, a cocktail bar, food options, and events. We make no claims of our own about the distillery's offerings, so check its site for what is running on your date, especially if the group wants to catch live music.
Getting there
From downtown Louisville, the drive is about 40 minutes, roughly 29 miles on I-64 east. From SDF, allow about 45 to 50 minutes. From downtown Jeffersonville, it is about 40 minutes, and New Albany adds a few more. Private flyers landing at Clark Regional Airport in Sellersburg are about 50 minutes away.
Pickups from both sides of the river
Because Jeptha Creed is about as close to Jeffersonville as it is to downtown Louisville, it is the easiest countryside stop for Indiana residents and for hosts showing visiting friends around. We pick up at homes and hotels in Jeffersonville, Clarksville and New Albany, and at Louisville hotels and SDF with flight tracking. More than one pickup address is fine; list each on the quote.
Making it the lunch stop
Put Jeptha Creed at midday. The Trail lists food options on site; confirm the menu and service times on the distillery's own website before you plan around it. After lunch, Bulleit Distilling Co. is a 20-minute ride for an afternoon tour, and Louisville or Southern Indiana is under an hour from there.
Bring a valid photo ID for anyone tasting and a light layer for time outdoors on the farm.
Pairing with Bulleit or Buffalo Trace
Bulleit Distilling Co. is about 20 minutes away and makes the natural second stop. Buffalo Trace in Frankfort is about 40 minutes east if the group wants a longer day. Our Southern Indiana pickup day runs Jeptha Creed first, then Bulleit.
Two ways to build the day
Short day: a late-morning pickup in Louisville or Jeffersonville, about 40 minutes east to Jeptha Creed for a visit and lunch, about 20 minutes on to Bulleit for an afternoon tour, and under an hour home. Total driving is a little under two hours, and the group is back by late afternoon.
Longer day: after lunch at Jeptha Creed, head about 40 minutes east to Buffalo Trace in Frankfort instead of Bulleit, then ride about 70 minutes home. That version has roughly two and a half hours of driving and suits groups that want one well-known Frankfort tour after a relaxed farm lunch. Either way, reserve the Frankfort or Shelbyville tour before you plan lunch, since the tour time sets the pace of the day.
What to send us
Send your visit or tour time at Jeptha Creed, any event you want to catch, the second stop if there is one, and each pickup address. If some guests are not tasting, that helps us suggest the right vehicle and pace.
Reserve your visit directly
Reserve your tour and tasting directly with Jeptha Creed on its website. Send us your times, and your chauffeur handles the driving and the timing between stops.
Choosing a vehicle
Friends from two or three households often share a shuttle so everyone rides together from the first pickup to the last drop-off. A couple or a small family is comfortable in a luxury SUV. See our fleet page for vehicle sizes. Every chauffeur is background-checked and trained; our safety standards are on the safety page.
