Madison Regional Airport (IMS / KIMS, IATA MDN) is the city-owned airport about four miles west of Madison, Indiana. The City of Madison operates the field and is the FBO. The terminal is at 3919 West IMS Lane, Madison, IN 47250, phone 812-273-1914. The airport’s site still notes the older name Madison Municipal. Veteran Executive Transportation meets that terminal for business visits, Ohio River weddings, and guests who want historic Madison without renting a car. Call (502) 835-2838.
The terminal you book
AirNav’s fuel listing for the city, and the airport’s own FBO page, put passenger services in this building: a pilot lounge, a conference room, and a desk. Published operating hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in summer and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in winter, seven days a week, closed New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Callout fees exist for arrivals outside those hours. If your ETA is late, the airport has to accept the callout. We time the chauffeur to the arrival you confirm, and we do not staff their desk.
Radio calls on the airport’s site are “Madison Traffic” or “Madison Regional,” not “Madison County,” which is a different airport in Ohio. That mix-up is the crew’s problem in the air and our problem on the ground if the reservation says the wrong state. Use IMS or KIMS, Madison, Indiana.
Historic Madison, and the grass strip downriver
The terminal is a few miles west of Madison’s hilltop and the historic downtown. In ordinary traffic that is about 10 to 15 minutes to the Main Street area. Wedding venues and inns along the river need the actual street, because the bluff roads are not a straight grid. A guest who thinks the airport is “in town” will be early or late by the length of that hill.
Lee Bottom (64I) is the turf field south of Hanover. It is not this terminal. If one airplane in a group is on grass and another is at IMS, those are two pickups. Louisville and the bourbon stops north of the river are a real drive on US-421 or I-64 once you are out of the valley. Put the final city on the quote so the hours match the map.
Cars that fit a small-city arrival
Most IMS arrivals we see are an owner, a couple, or a small cabin. The black SUV covers that, with luggage. A family reunion or a wedding party that met the airplane here often needs the 14-passenger shuttle so nobody is left arranging a second car in Madison. A stretch limousine is the formal choice for a ceremony that starts with the airport and ends at a venue. The party bus is for the evening, if the venue can take it, and it is booked as its own hours.
Send the tail number, the passenger count, and whether anyone needs the car to wait in Madison through dinner. Flight tracking adjusts the airport end. It does not shorten the climb out of the river valley if you are going on to Louisville the same evening. Same-day changes go to (502) 835-2838.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who runs the FBO at Madison?
The City of Madison. The terminal and FBO desk are at 3919 West IMS Lane, Madison, IN 47250. There is not a separate chain FBO to choose.
What are the terminal hours?
The airport publishes 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in summer and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in winter, seven days, and closes New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Outside those hours the airport charges a callout. Tell us once that is arranged.
How far is downtown Madison?
About 10 to 15 minutes from West IMS Lane to the historic downtown in ordinary traffic. Name the venue street if the stop is on the river rather than on the hilltop.
Do you also cover Lee Bottom?
Yes, as its own page and its own kind of pickup. Lee Bottom is a turf field south of Hanover. Madison Regional is the paved airport with the terminal. Do not use one name for both.
